프로젝트 <무영등 / Surgical illumination system>, 개인전, 2025, 공간서로
무영등은 환부에 그림자가 생기지 않도록 하는 의료용 조명으로, 광원의 빛을 주변 거울이 난반사하여 그림자를 없앤다. 여러 각도의 빛이 환부를 비추면 손이나 도구 그림자 없이 의료적 개입과 관찰이 가능해진다.
이 프로젝트에서는 무균과 표백을 만드는 무영등의 구조를 가져와, 스크린을 환부로, 프로젝션을 광원으로 삼는다. 4개의 프로젝터를 하나의 스크린에 중첩시키는 멀티 프로젝션을 통해 무영등의 광학적 메커니즘을 시각화하며 신체 내부를 그림자 없이 보려고 하는 욕망을 시뮬레이션 한다.

A shadowless surgical lamp is a medical lighting device designed to eliminate shadows from a surgical site by diffusely reflecting light through surrounding mirrors. By illuminating the area from multiple angles, it enables precise medical intervention and observation, unobstructed by the shadows of hands or instruments.
This project adopts the structural logic of the shadowless surgical lamp—a tool that constructs environments of sterility and bleaching—reimagining the screen as the surgical site and the projection as the light source. Through multi-projection, where four projectors overlap onto a single screen, the work visualizes the optical mechanism of shadowless lighting and simulates the human desire to observe the interior of the body without the shadows.
