동시대에 실시간으로 방송되는 재난은 종말을 계속해서 상상하게 함으로서 종말의 가능성은 사라지고, 환상이 된다. 이미지로 존재하는 재난들은 다가올 종말을 가리키며 동시에 그러한 종말은 결코 오지 않으리라는 부인의 구조를 유지한다.

The real-time broadcasting of contemporary disasters feeds a constant imagination of the apocalypse, turning the possibility of an end into a hollow fantasy. Existing as mere images, these disasters signal a looming end, yet they operate within a framework of denial—a persistent assurance that the end they signify will never truly come.
